The hard work and commitment of representatives from VSIA
member companies have resulted in the publication of a number
of formal VSIA documents – specifications, standards,
and other technical documents -- solving some very tough SoC,
reuse and IP integration problems. Most of these documents
are available both to VSIA members and to the public.
All VSIA documents are available to members, as downloads,
after executing a free "click-through" copyright
license. Non-members must sign a copyright license and pay
an annual license fee for some document types (the fees vary
and are listed on the order form and in the Document Directory).
The member and non-member licenses are accessed through the
appropriate links accompanying each document's name on the
online Document Order Form.
The VSIA Document Directory includes a list of all available
documents, including license fees and content summaries.
The VSI Alliance documents in the Directory fall into the
three categories defined below: VSIA Specifications, VSIA
Standards and Technical Documents. The first part of the directory
is a document listing; if you click on a linked document title
there, you will see a brief summary of the document's contents.
All VSIA documents are owned and copyrighted by the VSI Alliance
Inc. You may download and print out a copy of each for your
personal use, according to each document's license agreement.
All other distribution rights are reserved by VSI Alliance,
Inc.
VSIA Specifications
are documents that specify a set of requirements or deliverables
for the transfer of information from an IP provider to an
IP integrator, along with one or more standards (usually
format) that must be followed with respect to the transfer
of each deliverable.
VSIA Standards define
the form, protocol, or structure required with respect to
the specific information that is transferred from an IP
provider to an IP integrator. In VSIA, specifications have
deliverables that reference standards to be applied, but
standards do not reference any specifications.
VSIA Technical Documents
include white papers, definitions, taxonomies, and overviews
(such as the Architecture and Deliverables Documents) --
in short, all full-length VSIA documents other than Specifications
or Standards.
The VSIA convention for numbering standards or specifications
is: "VSI Alliance [TITLE] [Standard or Specification]
Version x.y"
WG acronym [number of the document that this group has released]
[x.y]
