VSIA's Pillars address standards that can improve productivity for SoC and IP developers and users. Currently there are three Pillars: IP Quality, IP Protection, and IP Transfer. Creation of a group requires committed interest from at least four large industry companies, and each pillar addresses both technical and commercial solutions to IP integration and reuse. VSIA provides each group with marketing and administrative support.
VSIA member organizations that wish to participate as voting members on one or more VSI Alliance Pillars must be invited to join by the Group Chair and approved by the current Pillar members. Organizations that participate as voting members on one or more Pillars are considered Principal Members of the VSI Alliance. If invited and approved to join a group by the Group Chair and current Pillar members, General Members may participate in in a non-voting capacity, at their General Membership dues category.
